Landing on the lakeshore, prior registration required (a few days in advance)
The new flying area, which is still partly unknown to pilots, has a lot to offer! 3 developed take-off s, one more in the process of being developed, this all around a lake that offers an impressive play of colors. All of this in Ermenek, a tourist-untouched area where you can experience the locals’ very own, original way of life.
Because there is little support there outside of our flights and when a friendly school is on site, the area is primarily suitable for independent, confident pilots.
Be careful of the power line that runs across the flight path.

You must have flown here before the big run starts here
Ermenek, about 3 hours from Antalya airport and a good 2 hours north of Anamur, literally takes your breath away with its beauty and special impressions. Because it cannot be reached from any airport in a short time, it is a real tourist gem that has not been discovered and must be experienced in its original state.
A friend of ours who is a flight instructor has opened up 2 take-off points here for thermals and soaring training. Another one was paved into the landscape on the opposite side of the lake by two pilots from a small town. We also had the honor of flying the first time over another take-off point on the east side, which is currently being built.

The main wind directions in the daytime wind pattern are covered by the two main launch sites Yumurat and Kale.
Kazanci is an alternative launch site when there is a northerly wind and offers suitable soaring conditions, especially in the morning. The landing site there is a bit challenging, however.
Long sessions in thermal conditions above the rock face facing the sun make your heart beat faster. Especially because it offers a view that will stay in your memory forever.
The landing takes place on a small headland on a recreational site. A take-off/landing strip for paramotors has been cleared here and you can approach it from all directions. The play of colors can be so captivating that you can even forget to take your bearings. Even if the landing area is really lush, you still have to stick with it for a while because, after all, a headland is surrounded by water. If you don’t feel confident landing on the large headland, there are plenty of outside landing areas available.
Take off sites at Ermenek, summery
Please note that pilots must register with the local authorities. The necessary documents must be sent in advance. We are happy to do this for our guests in Ermenek.
Attention: High-voltage power lines will be crossed during the flight. Take a close look beforehand!

Perfect paragliding conditions and a very different destination
We were actually just looking for an alternative take-off point for one of our neighboring travel destinations. What we found in Ermenek was a completely new destination with impressions that we have never experienced in Turkey before.
4 take-offs (one of which is still under construction) cover all typical wind directions. Above all, every single flight here is flying in and through fantastic colors. The flight to the lake shore below Ermenek is hard to beat in terms of beauty.
In addition, Ermenek is a destination that, due to its location, has remained undiscovered by tourism. Therefore, not only is the lake shore unspoilt and everything you come across is a glimpse into the untouched life, culture and history of Turkey. Did you know that there are still migrating Bedouin tribes in Turkey?
The conditions for paragliding here are just perfect. The flights from Yurmurtepe and Kale in particular go directly over a rock face that produces strong thermic. At the same time, you get a direct insight into the cave settlements below you, which take you into ancient cultural history while you are flying.
April to October are of course the most visually beautiful and thermally best seasons. But even in winter you can surrender to the beauty of the flying area in the air. The fact that there is also a small ski slope here gives the winter pilot a certain touch. (The word slope was deliberately chosen instead of “ski area”).
There is no organized support here yet, unless we or a friend of ours is there with his group. The area is recommended for independent pilots who have a certain level of saddle stability. We strongly recommend that individual travelers contact us some time in advance. Then something can certainly be organized outside of our groups.
Pilot level
Independent pilots, minimum requirement IPPI P4
With 4 different take-off points, Ermenek offers a huge variety in your paragliding holiday. The different take-offs cover pretty much every possible wind direction in this area.
A good 1000 m in altitude and colors like those from an AI machine make even simple glides in calm air a pure pleasure.
In the summer months, there can be strong thermals around midday/afternoon. Depending on your level, you should avoid these hours to avoid being overwhelmed.Guiduing: Availability & Pricing
