Ayten Hanim Konagi, Ermenek Hotel

Ayten Hanim Konagi unser bester Tipp für deine Unterkunft in Ermenek

Our hot tip for your accommodation in Ermenek

Located in the heart of Ermenek’s old town center is the 140-year-old building of the “Ayten Hanim Konagi” hotel – Mrs. Ayten’s accommodation. It was completely renovated in 2019 with funding from the European Union and transformed into a modern hotel with the lowest possible carbon footprint.

The charm of the old room layouts and accessibility via steep wooden staircases, as well as the exterior appearance, were largely preserved. Especially on the upper floors, the original structure can be seen in the alignment of the floors and ceilings.

Idea and Philosophy

The sustainability of an old building that is completely renovated and converted into a hotel not only conserves resources but also preserves the charm of the building and the town. This is not the only reason we recommend this hotel as your accommodation in Ermenek. Here, you will truly sleep amidst the town’s history.

The principle of sustainability is also implemented in the hotel operation. Food, wherever possible, comes from the region and directly from the producer. The use of disposable packaging is also reduced to an absolute minimum.

Facilities

The rooms in a 140-year-old building are rather small but comfortably furnished, literaly cozy. Seven double rooms and two single rooms offer enough space even for smaller groups if booked early enough. Twin setups are not available. The rooms are arranged around a small lounge area on each floor, ideal for relaxed socializing or game nights.

The basement houses the attractive, stylishly furnished restaurant, which has both an indoor and outdoor area.

The Turkish breakfast is included and is served as a buffet or at your table, depending on the number of guests. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

Your time in Ermenek and at the Ayten Hanim Konagi

Spending your time in Ermenek is a journey into history. The more recent history is in the still preserved and inhabited old town houses, and the much more ancient cultural history, whose impressions can be felt in Ermenek and the surrounding area.

In the heart of Ermenek’s old town, the massive rock face hovers behind the hotel. The constantly changing colors of the sun on the rock face and the lake below determine the atmosphere of Ermenek, and no two hours are the same.

…as a paraglider

The striking rock face of Ermenek, dotted with ancient cave settlements, with its “Kale” take off site directly above the town, will remain in your memory forever. It faces directly south and is illuminated from all angles throughout the day, reflecting the sun’s trajectory. The atmosphere, from dawn before sunrise to sunset in the evening, is a constantly changing play of light. And, of course, it’s the orientation that ensures solid thermals around midday. We’ve even experienced thermal flights here in February.

An impressive time, spending your stay directly in, below, or above the thermal wall.
